Chapter 8 - The Morning After

The following morning, after my very successful first date with Nicole, we get up to face the household. I wasn't too sure what to expect from Beau and Jan but I guess they were going to find out soon enough. I was living under their roof after all.

I was a little hesitant to make an appearance as I had heard Beau and Jan in the lounge room discussing plans for the day but Nicole put my mind at ease in what was becoming a very regular activity.

Ahhh, my goodness this girl feels good! But time to peel myself off her and get a swim in before breakfast.

After our swim we headed inside to make breakfast as Nicole had to get home in time to help her flat mate Marie open shop in Bluewater Village.

But as we hugged (yet again!) I felt really weird as Jan was looking at us funny, like she was very disappointed in us or something. Who could blame her though? I wasn't exactly being the man with the most morales at the moment.

It didn't seem to bother Nicole. I started to wonder if we had the same understanding about what was happening here. Did she think that Lucy knew more? Did she think that I had spoken to Lucy about "us"?

Anyway, I was starving after my active morning (hehe) so I served up pancakes all round. But it was Nicole's choice in conversation topic that sort of told me that she thought I was 'more available' than I actually was.

Oh no! Move in together?? Now? So soon?? Quickly! Avoid question!! Must avoid question!!

By some miracle I manage to palm off that topic and we end up discussing lighter topics. Time just passes so quickly around Nicole and then she's off, to help Marie with first day celebrations at the new real estate office in Bluewater. A lingering kiss and my dream girl was gone.

With not much else to do I decided to relax in a hot bubble bath and then head into town to get Nicole the most beautiful bunch flowers that I could find.

The bath felt good and it helped me to relax my mind a little. All the talk of moving in together was making me a little nervous. Not that I didn't have strong feelings for Nicole, in fact I was pretty sure that I have never loved a girl this much before, but I was keen to focus on my career for a while and not move out of Beau's home until I was financially stable.

Anyway, time to blow my meagre savings on a gift for Nikky.

Oh, and add "get a car" to my list of things to get before buying a house.

Taxi's suck.

"To Bluewater's Just Flowers and More" thanks driver.

As we head off down the street I see Lucy heading in the direction of my house. I duck and I don't think she sees me. Phew! Oh well, Beau is there at least if she happens to call past. I am confident that he'll cover for me, for now at least. He won't forever.
